The works depicted here unite the experiment. Thus, the fabrics make the sound of water tangible: haptically through twisted yarns, visually through reddish shimmer on a blue background and acoustically through the woven wire filaments.
Techniques used and learned here were programming, various weaving and embroidery techniques on the university's equipment.
The works were created during the generative basic semester as well as in further projects between 2020-2021.

This photograph, taken for the basic project Farbrauschen (color noise), served as inspiration for the color scheme and the further haptic examination. Thus, on the one hand, the fabrics show a shimmering glossy surface. On the other hand, the rushing water surface created by currents is depicted. Through the interwoven wires, the fabrics can be used as MIDI controllers. Thus, the rustling of the fabrics can also be heard acoustically.
In these works from the Illumination project, luminous LEDs were woven into the double weave. The partial use of glass beads diffuses the light somewhat. The individual sections can later light up individually.
This triple weave has also been created in the Illumination project. In addition to colored fabric layers, there is a technically reflective layer in the middle. Inspired by the cooperation with the architectural firm Sauerbruch + Hutton, who also combine different functional levels in their textile facades.
