green glas
In the experimental basic project for the summer semester 2020, the various facets of fabric finishing were explored. Thus, the fabrics have been dyed, printed, embroidered, filled, impregnated, exposed and pressed. Thematically, the resulting images and fabrics show how fabric can become green glass. For this it is important to understand what glass is. Thus, by melting down collected glas from the beach, small artifacts were fired that, when shone through, served as inspiration for the late patterns. To mimic the translucent property of glass, fabrics were dyed with cyanotopy or allow the patterning to be seen only when transilluminated. To create the glassy smooth yet fragile surface, Acrodur was used to achieve very successful results.
